Terms of service

The agreement between you and LocalSoft. Last updated 28 August 2026.

These terms apply when you download, buy or use LocalSoft. LocalSoft is operated by MEGAHOST LLC, 36 South 18th Avenue, Brighton, CO 80601, United States ("we", "us"). If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

The licence you get

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use LocalSoft for development work, personal or commercial. A licence is issued to one person and may be used on up to three Macs at a time. You may move it between machines as often as you like.

A lifetime licence is a one-time purchase covering the application and all future versions of it. A yearly licence covers every version released while the subscription is active.

What you may not do

If a key is shared publicly we may deactivate it without a refund. We will always contact you first if it looks like a mistake rather than deliberate abuse.

Ownership

LocalSoft and its name, design and code remain ours. Buying a licence buys the right to use the software, not ownership of it. The open-source components we bundle — Apache, nginx, PHP, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis and others — remain under their own licences, which we comply with and which are listed inside the application.

Everything you make with LocalSoft is entirely yours. We claim no rights over your projects, code or data.

Payment

Prices are shown before purchase and charged through Stripe. Taxes are added where they apply. Yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from the receipt email or by writing to us — cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the current period running.

We may change prices for new purchases. An existing lifetime licence is never charged again.

Refunds

Every paid plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee, described in full in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

Support and availability

Support is included on every plan and normally answered within one working day. The licence service is designed so that the app keeps working when our servers do not: activation checks fail open, and LocalSoft continues to run offline.

We do not promise uninterrupted availability of the website or the licence service, and we may take them down for maintenance.

Warranty and liability

LocalSoft is provided as it is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise it is free of defects or fits every purpose.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with LocalSoft is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses. Keep your own backups of anything you care about — snapshots are a convenience, not a backup strategy.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using LocalSoft at any time. We may end your licence if you materially break these terms and do not put it right after we ask. If we do that without good cause, we refund the unused part of what you paid.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be emailed to existing customers. Continuing to use LocalSoft after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Colorado have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in and may bring proceedings there.
